1. Definition of spiritual science and spiritual research
Before we look at the objectives of spiritual research, let us first examine the following definitions from a spiritual perspective.
1.1 The meaning of ‘spiritual’:
The Oxford Dictionary defines spiritual as an adjective
- Relating to or affecting the human spirit as opposed to material or physical things.
- Relating to religion or religious belief.
Definition of Spiritual: The Spiritual Science Research Foundation (SSRF) defines the word ‘spiritual’ as all elements beyond the boundary of the five senses, mind (i.e. our feelings, emotions and desires) and intellect (i.e. our decision making process and reasoning ability)
1.2 Science and spiritual science:
According to the Oxford Dictionary the word ‘science’ originates from the Latin word ‘scientia’ and from ‘scire’ meaning ‘to know’. As a noun the dictionary defines the word ‘science’ as
- The intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the structure and behaviour of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment.
- A systematically organised body of knowledge on any subject.
Definition of science: The Spiritual Science Research Foundation along with the above definition extends the scope of the word ‘science’ to include the physical, natural and spiritual world. It deems science as that which can be experienced again and again by all across race, sex, religion, nationalities etc. given the same experimental conditions.
We call spiritual science (i.e. Spirituality) a ‘science’ because:
The SSRF defines the word 'subtle world' or 'spiritual dimension' as the world which is beyond the understanding of the five senses, mind and intellect. The subtle world refers to the unseen world of angels, ghosts, heaven, etc. which can only be perceived through our sixth sense.
- The spiritual dimension is just as systematic and logical as that of the physical world.
- The reason for everything that happens in the spiritual or subtle dimension is discernible just as in the physical or gross world.
- The cause and effect relationship is as true in the subtle dimension as it is in the gross. Spiritual research is basically about understanding these subtle and intangible ‘causes’.
- The principles concerning the spiritual dimension can be tested again and again with the requisite tools. Just as the research tools are different for physics and biology, so also is the case for spiritual science. In Spiritual research, the main tool required for analysis and measurement is a highly developed subtle perception ability, more popularly known as sixth sense (ESP).
1.3 Research and spiritual research:
The Oxford Dictionary defines ‘research’ as the systematic study of materials and sources in order to establish facts and reach new conclusions. While the study of a phenomenon from a spiritual viewpoint is just as systematic, it is not in the same dimension as research carried out in modern sciences.
Spiritual research is researching the spiritual dimension or spiritual realm with the help of an advanced sixth sense (ESP). The spiritual realm is that which cannot be perceived through our five senses, mind and intellect. It includes the world of heaven, hell, angels, spirits, auras, ghosts etc.
Spiritual research is related mainly to what is known as the 4th and 5th dimension. Time is the 4th dimension and invisible space is the 5th dimension.
Spiritual research about the fourth dimension is research about previous lives to find out the events or deeds at that time which now contribute to positive or negative events in this life. For example, spiritual research can unveil whether people had done spiritual practice in previous lives that has contributed to their success in this life.
Spiritual research about the fifth dimension is research extending into the subtle positive and negative regions of the universe to find the root causes of problems in our lives. For example, ‘Spiritual research about the fifth dimension in the life of Luis’ revealed that a subtle witch was the spiritual root cause of his excessive sexual thoughts.
Spiritual research can also be conducted in the first three dimensions to put modern sciences in the right direction where scientists’ and researchers’ understanding is limited about various subjects. When help is taken from spiritual research to aid scientific research, then all research proves fruitful and many years or even a lifetime of effort in the wrong direction can be saved.
2. The aim and objective of spiritual research
The spiritual dimension can be the cause of up to 80% of our problems in life. This is a statistic that has been substantiated in our research of the spiritual dimension since 1985, and study of the contributing factors for problems in life. What it means for us is that if we are not taking into account the spiritual dimension in finding the root cause of our problems and issues in life, we are potentially missing out on 80% of the story.
Refer to the article on ‘The root causes of problems in life”.
The aim of SSRF’s spiritual research is:
- To educate society on the spiritual dimension and how it affects our lives.
- To provide tools for people to:
- Understand and experience the spiritual dimension
- Understand and overcome problems where the cause is spiritual in nature
- Achieve everlasting happiness
