1. Introduction to the B1 type of Autosuggestion
One juggles through endless pressure situations in a day be it reaching work after bracing heavy traffic, worries about health, finances, misunderstandings with family or facing a difficult boss every day – and the list is endless. Now to add to that if you have a child who suddenly remembers he or she has an important test the next day or has fought with her siblings and made them miserable or you have a subordinate at work who has been continually slacking on projects or shying away from putting the hard yards it is then that you snap and give in to the situation.
We try to resolve the issues as per our understanding, subconscious impressions and personal life experiences. However, in most cases, either we undergo stress while trying to sort things out or end up being stressed. To add to this, the problems also do not necessarily get resolved. We end up blaming others or the situation. This sets the foundation for an unstable mind.
Is there a way to manage our heightened emotions when others (children or subordinates) are pressing our buttons and are in the wrong? As per the Personality Defects Removal Process, there is a spiritual technique – B1 Autosuggestion technique which helps to increase one’s self-awareness and introversion teaches us self-restraint to be able to act with precision and calmness even though someone else has made the mistake.
2. Definition of the B1 Autosuggestion technique
The B1 Autosuggestion technique is used to reduce one’s mental stress by removing the personality defects of others or by changing their adverse situation. For this Autosuggestion, specifically, the other person should be either subordinate or junior to us. It can be our children, employees or anyone who is receptive to our suggestions. Even though the mistake is made by someone else, these Autosuggestions help to address and overcome our reactions. In this technique, since there is a possibility of a dialogue with the other person, something can be done to change the other person or the situation to a certain extent. Through this technique, it is possible to overcome defects in others such as subordinates, children, etc. by giving an explanation, punishment, etc. to the concerned person again and again. This technique is especially useful for parents or when you are heading a company and you have subordinates working for you.
2.1 The format to frame a B1 type of Autosuggestion is :
Its format is :
So, in the case of the mistake mentioned above, the Autosuggestion below could be used.
The mistake is that I felt anger towards Nicole (my younger sister) for not keeping the house tidy.
- So, as per the format of the B1 Autosuggestion, the Autosuggestion would be – Whenever I see that Nicole has left the house untidy, I will calmly tell her that it is important to keep the house tidy as otherwise the vibrations of the house get affected.
- The Autosuggestion begins with “Whenever” then that part of the mistake comes which is the actual trigger. Here, it is that Nicole has left her clothes lying around the house.
- Then it is followed by the action which can be taken to calmly handle the situation – which is I will calmly tell her that it is important to keep the house in order else the vibrations of the house are disturbed. Here, the words, ‘I will calmly tell her’ are the most important, as it helps to keep the focus on oneself where one can improve.
3. How to decide when to select the B1 Autosuggestion technique
B1 Autosuggestion techniques are used when the mistake is caused by others and we have a reaction. Some examples of such mistakes and the personality defects responsible for our reaction are listed below.
Mistakes or situation | Reactions due to our personality defects | |
1 | Child not studying despite being told many times | Anger, Expectations |
2 | Subordinate not being punctual despite being reminded many times | Prejudice, Anger |
3 | Servants asking for a raise repeatedly | Worry, Anger |
4 | Students misbehaving in class | Anger, Complaining |
5 | Husband not helping at home | Anger, Prejudice, Complaining, Emotionalism |
6 | Wife not being thrifty | Prejudice, blaming others |
7 | Teenager child playing video games too often | Worry, Expectations |
8 | Younger sibling wasting a lot of time and money in socialising | Emotionalism, expectations |
One thing that is common in all the examples mentioned above is that they can be changed or brought under control. Like for instance, the child not studying despite being told to study several times is something that can be improved either by love, patience and understanding or by punishment depending on the root personality defect of the child. Similarly, a younger sibling wasting time and money in socialising when he or she should be serious about his or her future is also something that can be brought under control either by discussion or by being strict.
The stressors mentioned above are not exhaustive. They are situations that we face from time to time and the responses are usually based on our predominant personality defects. We may express our reactions, or they may be left unexpressed, however, in all such cases, the mind becomes unstable and the negative impressions in our subconscious mind become firmer. To add to it, this can hamper our relations with others even to a greater extent, sometimes causing irreversible damage to our relationships and career. Hence, it becomes pertinent to focus on our reactions and identify the root personality defect causing us stress.
4. How to select and analyse the use of the B1 Autosuggestion technique
The following flowchart shows visually how we would know when to select the B1 Autosuggestion technique to address a mistake.
Let us take the mistake below as a practical example illustrating how to know when to select the B1 Autosuggestion technique.
Mistake: I was frustrated and shocked to hear from the class instructor that my son Ryan had not completed his homework for 1 week. He was lying to me that he was completing it.
- The first question we need to ask to determine the Autosuggestion type is – whose personality defect is primarily the cause of stress in the situation or who is responsible for the mistake.
Answer : Here it is others (my son Ryan) as he was lying to me about completing his homework.
- The next question we would ask is ‘Was this mistake an incorrect action, thought or emotion or was it an incorrect reaction?’
Answer : Here it is an incorrect reaction
So, based on the analysis, since this mistake is an incorrect reaction caused by others (who is a subordinate, and something can be done to change the situation like speaking to him, reprimanding him or punishing him if needed), a B1 Autosuggestion can be used.
Its format is :
So, in the case of the mistake mentioned above, the Autosuggestion below could be used.
Suggested Autosuggestion : Whenever the class instructor tells me that my son Ryan has not completed his homework for 1 week, I will realise maybe he has some obstacles and is feeling overwhelmed. So, I will calmly speak to him and help him complete his homework.
5. Examples of B1 type of Autosuggestions
In this section we provide you with a few examples of situations of where one can use the B1 type of Autosuggestion and how to frame them.
6. Conclusion
Our subordinates, siblings, children rely on us for support and encouragement. However, are we able to remain tolerant and stable when things don’t go the way we would have liked. This is especially when they behave inappropriately. We all would like to change people or circumstances causing us unhappiness. However, the only way to change others is to keep the focus on our mistakes and to have an unbiased and expansive view of the situation. B1 Autosuggestion technique helps us to work on our reactions, so we become more tolerant towards others.
Autosuggestions help to mould our personality for the better. ‘An ideal personality is one that has the least personality defects, has the ability to remain steady even in adverse conditions and overcome adversities, always has ideal and optimistic thoughts and encourages others to act in a correct or ideal manner’.
